Cheeseman 2010

With great snow conditions this year we hope everyone had an enjoyable 2009 winter on the slopes? Summer is now well and truly underway and everyone's mind couldn't be further from thinking about Skiing or snowm! However we are already thinking about the 2010 season and winter will be back again before you know it!
With Christmas just around the corner we would like to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday period and thanks for your support during 2009.
Cheeseman is aiming to open for the 2010 season on the 3rd July (only 7 months away) in time for the school holidays and we are looking forward to another long and fun filled season on the sunny Cheeseman slopes.

Summer Activities:

Now that the weather has warmed & the snow has melted our focus turns to maintenance and the continual upgrading of the facilities on the hill. Over this summer we will undertake routine maintenance on our tows and groomer fleet along with other mechanical plant. We have some building compliance requirements to complete prior to next season and this includes the fit-out of a disabled toilet / shower area and access ramp at Forest Lodge along with other upgrading work.
We hope to be able to undertake some earthworks on the hill to widen the upper "Cat Track" which is the main access down off the slopes to the base area for beginner / intermediate skiers & boarders.
The club is reliant on assistance from members to complete much of the summer maintenance and although we do hire in professional labour for some specialist work there is still lots that can be done by our members. Jobs range from Mechanical maintenance, building maintenance, painting, firewood collection and splitting, road maintenance to name a few. Workparties are held on various weekends during the season and are a great way of meeting new faces and for old faces to stay in touch with one another over the summer.

With great beginner, intermediate and advanced slopes, Cheeseman
is perfect for learners and all the family. Two T-Bars give easy access
to well groomed slopes and exciting off-piste terrain. The Learners
Tow is located right beside the Daylodge which serves awesome
coffee, delicious food and is fully licensed. You can choose to stay up on the mountain in Snowline Lodge or alternatively in Forest Lodge, nestled in the beech forest and located 6km from SH73 along our access road. More Info
